Right Now

Well, this is just unacceptable.

Any day where you're told to stay inside and where temperatures "fall" to 96 is just not going to be a good day. I plan on riding out this heat wave in my cool apartment with some movies, craft projects, and a smoothie. And maybe risking a little exposure by taking a quick trip to Target after work.

For every season turn turn

Hello, Spring. I never thought you'd get here.

I feel like skipping through the streets with unfettered joy at the blue skies, hot air, flowering trees, and friendly breezes. I feel like because of the harsh Winter people are just going to be crazy as Spring continues to spread. Good crazy or bad crazy? I'm not sure, only Spring can tell!

Saturday I took a long run/walk around the Capitol and then through Eastern Market for some lunch and flowers.

Sunday I went with the roommate to church for Easter and then out on a few errands. The church service ended with the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah. I think every day should start with the Hallelujah chorus and warm weather.

It's that time of year again...

...when I complain and moan and groan about how COLD it is. When I pine for the sweltering days I bitched about in the summer. When I wonder why I moved further north when the winters in NC were plenty harsh enough for me. When I accept begrudgingly admit that for the next six months I will be COLD all. the. time. When I drink around six cups of tea a day and twitch constantly as a result. (I've heard a rumor there's something called decaf, but I haven't looked into it.) When if I'm outside for more than two minutes without a hat my ears feel like they're bleeding and my nose runs all day. When I try to invent a way to have a space heater permanently attached to my person.

Yes, it's barely a month into fall. Yes, the high is nearly 60 today. Yes, I'm a pansy. But I'm COLD.

Enough is enough

I've been saying for years that I should just pack my bags and move to Guam. This time, I really should. Plus, they have a city named Mongmong, and I approve approve.
